Osceola Regional Medical Center and Nemours Children’s Health System will host a community open house at the hospital’s newly opened, state-of-the art Pediatric Department. The $7 million facility includes a six-room pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) – the first in Osceola County.
The 14,000-square-foot expansion more than quadruples the size of the previous pediatric area. In addition to the PICU, the department includes eight pediatric private rooms and a recently renovated Pediatric Emergency Department.
During the open house, attendees can tour the new facility and meet with hospital staff. Children can bring dolls and plush animals to a “toy clinic” for a pretend check-up. Face painting, balloons, and pictures with Florida wildlife animals will be available. Refreshments will also be available.
