DOE SBIR/STTRProposal Preparation: Why you should start now!
If you are new to the SBIR/STTR proposal preparation process and want to learn how to prepare a responsive proposal to the Department of Energy (DOE), please join us on Friday November 18 from 1-2pm EST for a one hour webinar.
The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program is designed for scientists, engineers, and other researchers who are looking for funding to conduct innovative research and development to address some of the nation’s most pressing problems. The Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program is a companion program that involves academic institutions.
Topics for the upcoming DOE solicitation have been released by the Department of Energy and include bioenergy, buildings, solar, vehicles, fossil energy, nuclear energy, remote sensing, and many others. Once topics are released there is much that a potential applicant can do to begin the process of formulating research ideas.
In fact some of your most creative proposal conceptualization can take place now, before you begin the mechanics of proposal preparation.
To encourage interested parties to participate in this webinar, participants will be provided access to the collection of roadmaps and other relevant documents prepared by the Department of Energy; referenced in the Topics document for FY 2017, Phase I, Release 2; and compiled by the DOE Phase 0 team. Easy access to these materials will help you better understand DOE’s interests and needs.
Topics covered in this webinar include:
•Background on the Participating DOE Research Programs
•Understanding DOE topics and subtopics
•How does DOE telegraph its interests?
•Matching your interests with DOE’s needs
•What is a Letter of Intent (LOI)?
•What is important to include in an LOI?
•Why not wait until the solicitation comes out?
